You can be prepared!  It's easier than you think.

Ordinary people can be prepared to survive life's emergencies--both large and small.

When you think of Emergency Preparedness, what comes to mind?

  • Living in the woods for a year with only a knife?
  • The television show "Survivor"?
  • Religious or para-military groups preparing for the end of the world?

I'd like you to include in your thinking...

  • The family who made sure that the family car had a good spare tire (and equipment to change it) before heading out on that road trip....
  • Or the mom who made sure she had some extra bottled water and some canned stew on the shelf in case the power went out....
  • Or the dad who kept all the important papers in a firebox that could be grabbed up and loaded into the car with the family when the wildfires threatened their house....

Emergency preparedness is for

  • Families
  • Singles
  • Boy Scouts
  • Girl Scouts
  • Parents
  • Emergency Response teams
  • Campers
  • Hikers
  • Fishermen
  • Hunters
  • Outdoor sports enthusiasts
  • Travelers
Because emergencies can happen anywhere -- at home, on the soccer field, in the woods, on the streets as you go to or from work.

This site will help equip you to cope with disasters and with difficulties. We provide information and tools to make sure you make it through safely.

Perhaps you thought being prepared for emergencies:
  • Was for people with lots of money.  You can spend a lot of money if you want to, but you don't have to.
  • Took special skills or equipment.  Those can help but they aren't required.
  • Meant you had to change your lifestyle
  • Or be ready to go live in the woods
  • Or join a local guard unit in order to be prepared.

You can do any of those things if you want, but you can be prepared without that.

Explore these pages and find out how.  We are here to help you, to guide you, and to point you to tools that can help make it easier.
